Pasta is becoming more of a staple food as we evolve in the 21st century. Now, there are all types of foods from different cultures using pasta as the main source of nutrients in a meal. Pasta is becoming a more versatile food because people can add other vegetables instead of having the traditional pasta, meat, and cheese.
Exercising has taught me many lessons about my business.
I never realized how much everything is connected.
When I first started my journey, it felt frustrating.
I felt like it was a struggle to get in shape.
It felt impossible like it would never happen.
What kept me going is accountability, mentors, and knowing deep down that’s what I truly wanted.
What kept me going was that small voice in the background saying “You can do it!” “This is what you want. Don’t give up!” when the voice saying “You suck and will never be as fit as your peers” was in the foreground.
I used to think in order to get my “dream body”, I had to work out extremely hard every single day and drastically restrict my diet.
I would feel guilty every time I have a cheat meal to the point where I wouldn’t enjoy the foods I love.
I woke up at 5:30 am to workout before work regardless of what my body told me to do.
I watched the scale and would freak out when my weight went up.
I cleansed multiple times a year to “remove all the toxins from the unhealthy food”
I was not listening to myself at all.
I was taking life so seriously.
It felt like maintaining my body was an ego trip.
Most of all, I had the body I desired and still hated my body.
For the past year and a half, I have made a choice to greatly reduce gluten, dairy, and added sugars from my diet.
My whole life, I indulged on junk food.
Whether it was chips and dip, pizza, or any fast food burger joint, it went into my body.
There were no regards for my diet whatsoever.
Junk food was a way for me to cope with the stress that was occurring around family-related matters as a child.
When I felt worthless or powerless about expressing myself freely to my family, I would go to food.
I want to share a progress picture because I haven’t posted one in a while.
Or really at all for that matter.
The reason why I haven’t is that I’ve had a lot of confidence issues around my body regardless of my size.
In my earlier pictures like this one from 4 years ago, I didn’t even want to show my face because of all the shame I had around my body.
I was over 30 lbs heavier, which is a lot for a 5’2 frame.
“I feel gross!”
“I’m too bloated!”
Whatever it was, I was never happy with my body.
Chocolate is a delicious delicacy that has been around for a long time. It used to be a delicious sweet treat that was made by the most pure cacao plant with some sugar to cut some of the bitterness, and something special added to it like nuts or marshmallows. The cacao plant got in the hands of greedy corporations. Why settle for refined chocolate when you can make your own with 6 unrefined ingredients and have it taste rich and delicious, just like the refined version. Find my recipe for delicious chocolate <"link_to_recipe"> here!
Who doesn’t love pizza?! People eat this for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. It’s become such a staple of our lives, especially in social settings. You see pizza everywhere. At a restaurant, a festival, a sports game, or after a night out at the bars are just some of the prime examples of where you see pizza being sold. We as a whole are consuming a shit ton of pizza. It can be made in so many different ways. There’s breakfast pizzas, dessert pizzas, meaty pizzas, fried pizzas. Hell, even put ice cream on a pizza! The combinations are endless for creativity.

Ramen has been a childhood and college staple for a long time. Who wouldn't want to get a quick, easy meal for less than a dollar?! Do you feel like Ramen is satisfying while you're eating it, but leaves you starving afterwards? I used to eat that stuff at least on a weekly basis before I realized the havoc it was causing to my body.
My name is Rachel and I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach. This is my personal weight loss transformation. These two pictures of me represent two very different people. The person on the left was from 2012. She was in college, her diet consisted of lean cuisines and food from a box, and she wasn’t sleeping very well due to all the hours spent on homework. She was extremely stressed and was not incorporating anything to stimulate relaxation to help counteract the poor diet and lack of sleep. Every weekend, she would go out partying and eat more food afterwards, followed by repeating the whole cycle again. She was tired all the time, bloated, and overall unhappy with her life.
If you were a child in the 1990's, you grew up hearing the jingle of Kraft Mac & Cheese. It's the cheesiest, right?! It sounds like a kid-friendly food we all have known to enjoy for decades. Well, if you look at the ingredients, there is not one ounce of real cheese in this product, but instead contains Yellow 5 and other preservatives to give it the cheese texture and flavor.
